Default Australia after Gun Confiscation

I was looking at some figures yesterday on Australia.
After the mass Confiscation and Distruction of most of the firearms in the country so it is a safer place to live.
This is the result:

Armed Robberies are up 69%
Gun Murders are Up 19%
Assaults with Guns are Up 28%
Home Invashions are Up 21%

Anyone with any brains think School Kids or any one else for that matter will be safer after Gun Control?

England is in similar shape.

The Anti Gun News Media will never show you these figures.

Bob

Bob, good to know! Thanks for putting this up. Do you have a link to share with these stats? Would be good to have when discussing this with others....

Merry Christmas!

Bob, I was there when this "buy back" happened nation wide. I lived in Oz from '84 - '99. The mass killing that triggered the action was in Port Arthur Tasmania, and the rifle used was one from Victoria State Police inventories-- after Victoria had instituted its own buy back program!
The numbers of homicides, assaults with firearms have decreased slightly, but these figures were based on the "one death=one incident" method of skewing statistics. The increase in armed home invasions went up, the armed inter gang warfare went up, and I can personally attest to the prevalence of the Browning High Power as the weapon of choice among the Vietnamese gangs in Brisbane. (banned way before the Port Arthur Massacre). The manipulation of statistics by anti-gun lobbyists has to be taken into account in any search of stats/sources.
Martin Bryant was a criminally insane individual.
The Tasmanian Police were restricted in their ability to stop him by "rules of engagement" that only allow an officer to shoot when fired upon. (If this is still the case, I do not know.)
