Vermont S.169 Vetoed
S.169 is a bill passed in VT that established a 24 hour waiting period for hand gun purchases, under the false premise of suicide prevention. Our governor vetoed the bill last night, so we dodged it for another year. I don't know if there's any folks from VT here, but if there is...good news for us. Join your local gun rights groups and fight...it can work, as it just did here in a bluest of blue state.

Good for you dock. I know Vermont is great for gun rights unlike Ma. Heard Maine has adopted similar for carry too. Heard Ma. became a "may issue" for long guns also and charging $100 for a 6 year permit.

I'm glad for you in Vermont. As you well know Ct. is a lost cause. But we can never give up the fight for our rights.

Yes, Maine and NH both have come over to the bright side. So northern New England is all permitless carry. We never had concealed carry permits, so were screwed on reciprocity even though anyone can carry here. I think Maine and NH kept their permits for anyone that wants to use reciprocity. I hadn't heard that about Mass and long guns thought, what a shame.

The NRA-ILA in Vermont was very good in sending out information about who in Vermont to contact to express opposition to this Bill. I know I contacted the office of the Speaker of the House requesting no support for this Bill (it passed anyway), and then the office of the Governor requesting a veto once it got to his desk. I've never done anything like that before in my life. One reason I moved to Vermont was to escape NY gun laws and then as soon as I got here the first new restrictive laws in Vermont passed and began going into effect several months later. I now vote to support the 2nd Ammendment in this State as if I was a single issue voter.

I'm glad you jumped the border and moved to VT, we need more like minded people moving here. As your probably aware, there is a lawsuit working now on the magazine limit enacted last year, I'm hoping this suit is successful and we can get back to being the state without gun laws that we were 3 years ago. As for being a one issue voter, that's a safe bet for this state, I do the same here, we just need more like minded candidates to vote for. Gun Owners of Vermont is another group well worth the membership fee, very active in fighting this nonsense. Here's the link to them:

This great news. Bloomberg is backing the Burlington Libs to destroy 2A in VT.
I am a member of Gun Owners of VT and they are worth every penny.
Keeping VT, NH and Maine strong 2A is like a wall of Freedom against the Communists just to the south.
I live in NYC and having a second home in Vermont allows me the Freedom to own and shoot handguns, AR's etc on the weekends without Government Permission slips. The fight is constant. Stay strong and back President Trump 110% in the reaction, because if he loses we are in bad shape.
