Colorado legislators are trying again
I saw that there was a Colorado post but, felt that this needed its own thread. They are trying again but, their overreach is mind numbing. They are basically trying to outlaw any semi-auto rifle/carbine. They are making it illegal to even give a firearm to a family member.
This is why I have always believed that elections have consequences. Not to try and get too political but, this is absolutely crazy and one party is the one pushing this. I know that this will not stand but, I think they realize that. I feel there is a more insidious plan behind this. I think they are trying to bleed the gun rights groups in Colorado so they cannot keep on challenging these absolutely UNCONSTITUTIONAL bills.
I just joined Rocky Mountain Gun Owners and the National Association for Gun Rights. I am a NRA member but, I need to check to see if I need to renew.
Wake up people, they don't care about the constitutionality of the bill, they just want to bleed us dry until they can do what they want.

As I have written before, gun groups need to start personally suing government official when, using their office, they deprive us of our 2A civil right.
42 USC Sect 1983 gives us that capability.
“Every person who, under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage, of any State or Territory or the District of Columbia, subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen of the United States or other person within the jurisdiction thereof to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress, except that in any action brought against a judicial officer for an act or omission taken in such officer’s judicial capacity, injunctive relief shall not be granted unless a declaratory decree was violated or declaratory relief was unavailable. For the purposes of this section, any Act of Congress applicable exclusively to the District of Columbia shall be considered to be a statute of the District of Columbia.”

Now I am hearing that they want to put an 11% tax on anything firearms related. They just don't give up. The only good thing is that they have to ask the voters if they want a tax increase. My worries are Boulder and Aspen.

Unfortunately, these "takers" in the legislature have establlished the process of assessing "fees" which do not, like taxes, require voter approval.

Even worse that we could have imagined.
Here is an update on every anti-gun bill currently moving through the legislature:
SB24-131: The “Sensitive Spaces” bill would ban open and concealed carry virtually everywhere in the state except your home. It is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee at 1:30 pm on March 13th.
HB24-1174: This bill is an increase in the requirements for obtaining a concealed carry permit. It would also transfer authority over permitting away from the sheriffs to the unelected bureaucrats at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It is scheduled for a House Finance Committee hearing on March 4th at 1:30 pm.
HB24-1310: The SLOWER bill will bar school districts from allowing well-trained teachers and faculty to concealed carry on campus to protect against violent threats to student safety. This is a targeted ban on the work that FASTER Colorado is doing every day to make Colorado schools safer. It is scheduled for a House Education Committee hearing on March 14th at 1:30 pm.
HB24-1349: This is an excise tax on firearms and ammunition. Excise taxes, such as those commonly levied on cigarettes and marijuana, are what we refer to as sin taxes. But gun ownership is a right, not a wrong. This bill is scheduled for a House Finance Committee hearing on March 25th at 1:30 pm.
HB24-1292: This is the anti-gun politicians’ latest attempt at an “assault weapons” ban. If passed, it would ban every semi-automatic centerfire handgun, rifle, and shotgun that accepts a magazine. It has been assigned to the House Judiciary Committee with no hearing date yet scheduled.
SB24-003: This bill will allocate millions of dollars to the CBI to create a “gun police” task force to enforce unconstitutional gun control policies like the mandatory 3-day waiting period. It has been assigned to the Senate Appropriations Committee. Its hearing date has not been scheduled yet.
SB24-066: This bill will require credit card and debit card transactions between consumers and licensed firearms dealers to be marked with a distinct code which will allow the government to track who is making legal firearm purchases. It has been assigned to the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee. Its next hearing date has not been scheduled yet.
HB24-1270: This measure will require all gun owners to maintain liability insurance, further increasing the unconstitutional financial burden of exercising our Second Amendment rights. It has been assigned to the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee and its next hearing date has not been scheduled yet.

I couldn't put a "like" to it because I don't "like" what they are trying to do but thank you for posting. It's difficult to believe the things that antigun people can think up. Larry
