Default My decision on the ATF's PAB Ban

OK, I'll admit it...I was one of the few who rolled over on the ATF's pistol arm brace ban. I was on the fence for a long time as to whether or not to register my SIG MPX Gen 2 and PAB with the ATF, but as the "free registration" deadline date approached last year I made my move. I used the ATF's eForms to register my MPX. I had a strong feeling that the ATF's ban would be overturned, but with the liberal anti-2A Federal courts I wasn't sure. My MPX was approved and registered as an SBR within 45 days. I guess it's really no big deal for me because I was planning to SBR the MPX anyway and I got to do it at No Charge. It now legally wears a SIG folding/telescoping stock, and I may add a suppressor sometime in the future. It's interesting how the ATF has drastically decreased its processing times this year. My son manages a local gun store and reports that ATF eForm applications (SBRs, suppressors, etc.) are coming back approved within days instead of weeks/months. Just FYI.

The same turmoil went through my brain during the entire ordeal.

I had two myself one being an AR style pistol chambered in 300 Blackout and the second being a Ruger Charger

I already have plenty of firearms and suppressors that are registered under the National Firearms Act so doing the SBR thing really didn't bother me the way it bothered a lot of people.

I too was hoping that the decision would be overturned because it truly was anti 2nd Amendment but it was hard to turn down free registrations

So I filed my 2 form 1s via the online website, got my approval and then pulled the braces off and put real stocks on both firearms

I avoid any thing the atf decides to change on us or simple wants us to do or else as the atf can not make law . They think they can but end up getting slapped down regularly . I have an AR9 pistol I found early on all that was needed with a single point sling to fire well using my cheek as a rest but I've have had a SBA3 still in the box years for about 6 years . A friend before passing a way gave my a 16" 9mm barrel free float tube and lite adjustable stock if a change to a carbine was ever wanted . The SBR needs new paper work every time I leave my state and thats one more item I don't care to deal with as my nearest rifle range is over the state line.
