About 15 years ago my inlaws wanted me to find a handgun they could carry in their motorhome. Seeing that after I paid for it I probably wouldn't be paid back, I set out to buy the absolute cheapest handgun I could buy. I finally found a S&W Model 10-6 police trade-in for less than $200.00 that showed a lot of wear. To my surprise, the action was slicker than snot on a door knob and also locked up tighter than a drum. It shoots most .38 ammo to point of aim. I can easily hit a Coke can at 25-35 yards with Winchester JSP+P. After a year or so they decided they didn't want a handgun around and gave the gun back to me. It was the first S&W I owned and I was so impressed, I own many more Smiths now. I love to backpack and am out as much as possible all year round. It has been my constant companion for many, many miles. A little on the heavy side, but it's a gun I totally trust in every situation. Here's a picture of model 10, my Ontario TAK knife, and my day pack. -Just thought I'd share.
