When I first started packing a handgun deer hunting it was a 6" 29-3. I was about 5' 5" and maybe 110lbs at the time. I bought me a good crossdraw holster that worked well. Tried shoulder holsters and didnt like them. I have since cut the bbl to 5" and still carry it every year. No problems
