I think she is a Pre 27, what do you guys think. How do you measure the barrel length? She is 3.5 inches from the tip of the barrel to the cylinder. She is pinned and recessed. I know that the Goodyear’s have no business on this gun and will correct that issue shortly. The Goodyear’s are better than what was on it when she came from Dad. If I remember the story correctly Dad bought her off a friend of his in the late 60's. The area he and my Mom lived in had a serial rapist that Mom was worried about and Dads friend sold him the 357 magnum for $50. There is no model number stamped on the crane just 40966. The other weird thing is how far away the S is before the actual serial number begins. Can you guys confirm she is a Pre 27 and what her approximate DOB is? The serial number is S 139092. I am going to be buying a light box soon as you guys take much better pictures than I am able to.
