Have only tried three powders in handloads for my .455 S&W H.E. 1st Model,Bullseye, GreenDot, and 231. I'm using new Hornady brass, and either the Remington 250g. LRN .455", or the Oregon Trail 255g. LSWC .454" bullets. Loaded GreenDot
in charges from 3.2g. to 3.6g. and velocities ran from 530fps to 625fps with 25 yd. groups running
from 4 to 5 inches. GreenDot discarded for the .455 MkII. Bullseye was tried with both O.T. and Rem. bullets in charges from 3.7 to 4.0 grains, with my S&W prefering the O.T. bullet,
one grouped into 1.5" (3.8g.). Velocities ranged from 750 to 820fps. W231 has been tried with both bullets as above with charges from 4.0 to 4.2g. with the O.T. bullet gaining a small accuracy advantage with a round 2" 25yd group at 4.2g. and 725fps. Hope this helps.
