Congrats on a fine 22. High Standard is the best imho. The early New Haven and Hamden models are the best (and from the original plant in Hartford, CT from 1929-1930 if you can find one). Quality started falling off after management changes and the move to East Hartford. I shoot a 1969 Supermatic Trophy and put Federal through it all the time, but I should experiment with different brands of .22 ammo. A Victor is really high on my "Want List".
