Just got my letter on the Chief's Special Airweight that I posted a pic of earlier in this thread. Shipped in April of 1953 to Houston and apparently everything is original since the letter states that it wasn't until 1954 that the alloy cylinders were replaced with steel cylinders.
Another interesting thing that I didn't know was that the 605 guns that the U.S. Air Force ordered as part of the Air Crew Program were serial numbered starting with "A.F." and the numbers following that were 1795-2399. Seems as though that knowledge should keep someone from being duped by someone faking this gun.
