pics of N frame grips
I think they came out of a dry-weather climate. They could use a coat of conditioning oil, but the checkering is perfect, no chips or cracks, etc. First two pics taken with flash under florescent lighting, last pic taken with no flash under the same lighting. Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Ryan

See anything else you like? Let me know and then we can start talking turkey, whether that's a straight trade, or a trade plus cash, etc. I'll tell you what, I even have an old Colt Officer's Model mfg. 1914 in .38 special. Decent condition, functions well. I might even trade that for the grips. I'll post the pics on the thread. How about a gun for a set of grips?
Regards,
Ryan

Officers Model pics
She's got some pitting on the right sideplate and may have been cold blued at some point, but the markings are clear and the action is smooth.

Sorry, no Smiths at this time for trade. I just have my Victory Model and my model 59, which I love too much to get rid of. A little info about the Colt Officers Model. This is a second-issue revolver made from, I believe, about 1908-1930. Serial puts it at 1914 mfg., according to proofhouse.com. The Officers Model has always been Colt's top-of-the-line revolver, with lots of hand fitting and finishing. A very popular choice with top competition target shooters in it's day. Action was always renowned for being silky smooth. Basically as smooth as the Python, but not available in .357 magnum, which is why the Python is so legendary. The grips she's wearing function well, but are missing their medallions and show wear. I might be able to do a little better on the grips. Check out the pics I'll attach to this post. They are old Colt grips which someone had carved a long time ago. I added some gemstones to the eyes, peridot in one eye and a garnet in the other. Sorry, no box or papers. How about the other grips pics I sent you? The K frame, model 59, ebony, etc.? Any interest?

Here are those other grips I already sent to your e-mail, just in case you missed any of them. Early K frames, Model 59 wrap-arounds, Victory Model trench-arted, J frames with pearl inlay.

By the way, that gun is not junk. I haven't fired it yet myself, but the action is smooth and seems like it's very serviceable. With the better, medallion grips on it, I'd value it at $350-400, easy. Let me know where you're at on all this. I do really like your Ropers and I hope we can work something out. Thanks,
Ryan
