I have a beautiful set of vintage (89 year old) genuine Sambar stag magna stocks for a Smith and Wesson K frame square butt revolver. Also included is a black BK grip adapter.
These stocks have taken on a beautiful yellowish patina that is only seen from a long and wonderful life. They fit tight for their age but do have some very slight movement once screwed down. At some point in their life, someone glued some wood blocks to the back of the stocks which have helped greatly in them not moving greater. I have done a range session with them on my model 10-5 and there was no issue at all. The BK grip adapter really adds additional grip area and makes the magnas so much more comfortable in the hand.
These sambar stocks came off of an S&W Model 1905 M&P engraved model from 1915. You can see this gun in the first picture. All of the other pictures are with the stocks mounted on my late 60s model 10-5. These stocks will mount up on a modern square butt frame just fine. Only very slight shrinkage over the last 80+ years.
*UPDATE* I have been told that magnas didnt come around until around 1935 so these were probably a later addition to the engraved gun that they came off of. so.. 89 years old?
Stocks are located in California
