Default About as good as it gets.....

Discounting the 3" K frame models (), if one could live without a Magnum revolver, but still stay with the .357 bore size, the Model 15 is a pretty good all-around gun. This later gun (M15-7), with non-tapered barrel, round butt gripframe and new style rear sight assembly is pretty much a complete package, dressed up with some Spegel Birdseye Maple grips, it's good for a night out on the town...

Now, if it just had a Patridge front sight.............!

Smile Model 15

Great package. I love the 15s and 67s. Just great fun to shoot and nice companions on walks in the woods.

I'll agree. A mod 15 is just as sweet as it gets. Simple beauty, classic workmanship and pure function in one package. FWIW, I found a 15-3 (67') a few weeks ago that appeared to be mint and unfired. Not even a drag mark on the cyl. No box or papers but for $375 I had the shop put it away for me. You may have just reminded me that I NEED to pick it up this week! :-)

I don't think I've ever seen a 4 inch round butt 15 before. The stocks really set that one off.

Cool gun.

When I was a kid, it seemed like every uniformed officer had a model 15. It's amazing they were able to keep the peace so well with such antique armament.

Mine, sadly, does have the tapered barrel:

Very nice, the grips are particularly eye catching.

Geez,
Not another tapered barrel (dare we say "pencil"? )
What's wrong with the frame colors, is that a defective blueing job?

The 15s are GREAT revolvers.

I would put Smithnut's grips on Bullet Bob's color case hardened frame.

This looks really cool.

I have a model 10 and a model 60 J frame. How do they compare? the model 60 is a J frame and the model 10 is larger but I don't know if it is a k, l or m frame.

what size is the frame on the model 15 shown here?

thanks, I love the grips!!!

M10 and M15 are K frame. I've never heard of M frame. Maybe your finger missed the N.

The Model 10 and 15 are both K frames.

Good Lord Almighty!
That's still a beautiful gun!
And the scary part was, in the right hands they shot even better than they looked!

Are those maple Spegel's extended or frame length boot grips? Been thinking about a set for my wife's 4" sq. butt 15.

I've also got a 586-? that is factory round butt... that would look great with that birdseye maple......

The ones in the picture are standard length Boot grips. He does make them in the extended length as well.

Smithnut, Did they use the 4 inch heavy barrel from the Model 10 to create the HB version of the M15?

Stillwater788,
No, these barrels are unique to the M15, they have the integral ramp front sight (the M10 does not), and as well they are not as heavy as the HB M10 barrels, these are more of a "standard" weight barrel, just no taper forward of where it mates to the frame.

Model 15s are great guns. Every collection needs at least one 10 and one 15. The only advantage the 15 has over the 10 is the adjustable sights. This is especially true in today's ammo market. Great looking 15s guys.
