A couple years back, I was going through a retro phase, had purchased some items from an estate that included two new old stock BoMar Ribs, one was listed as for a M19, so I installed it on a spare M14-4, the other was for a M39, had one that the top strap was roughed up on, so......
Anyway, here are a couple shots of these, and another K38 with a factory Muzzle Brake. Likely not competitive with today's slab-sided-space age-looking-purpose built target guns, but infinitely more pleasing to the (old) eyes, IMO.

Let's see your old shooters with vintage mods, sights, ribs, grips, whatever...
factory or aftermarket....

I've had this 19-3 with a Polychoke rib on it for 20 years.

Most people that look at it say, "what would it take to get that off?".

I say, "It ain't commin' off".

Fantastic,
Love the look of the blue rib on a nickel gun!
I've seen a couple short barreled M10's (one 3" one 4") over the years with ribs, they look very cool. Also, many years back, I saw a blue rib on a nickel M58, it looked totally tough.

Well SmithNut, this is pretty lame...but it's the only "mod" on any Smith I own...
This trigger-shoe came with the gun and unlike many currently offered trigger-shoes, it's secure and actually compliments the gun's already great trigger. I forgot the name of the shoe...I think it's a pretty well known item that was pretty common years ago.

And no, I do not carry this gun with the shoe installed. It gets hauled to and from the range in a gun rug.

Not lame, definitely vintage!
Thanks for the photo, appreciate you posting it, I'd completely spaced the trigger shoe feature.
:)

The OP says triggershoes are OK to post? I'm back in!

Mod 17 nada with long nose.

14-2 single action. Shoots better without the brake but looks way cool with it on,:) Bomar was a big deal when I shot in the seventys. You can't give one away today.

Wow, glad to hear that, anyone have a NIB one for an old M58?
I'm accepting gifts... :)

Thanks!

last thing I need is another project... oh well - let's get it going...

I hope this qualifies. 1905 fourth change. King double cockeyed hammer. Military target sights. I am pursuing another just like it. Home made Sanderson style stocks.:)

Here are a couple:

First, a .44 Special 2nd Model which was either a standard gun converted to a target configuration, or a Target Model with an updated rear sight--either way, I'd bet money that the Factory did the work.

Next, a Model 25-2 with a fitted .45 Colt cylinder--it doesn't letter that way, but the plastic recess in the case is perfectly die cut to fit the cylinder. Hmmmm....

Regardless, they're both pretty cool.

Did someone mention giving something away?

DWFAN,
Oh I think you'd find a few of us who would put our names in the hat should you decide to offer it up as a give-a-way!!

Nice gun!!!

Tim,
Wow! Love that 2nd Model!! Great stocks.

I used a Mod 14 with a Bomar Rib for PPC shooting for many years.

Later I borrowed a slab barreled custom Mod 10 from my dad...

My Mod 14 shot way better at 50 yards, so I went back to using it...

As a side note, some officers I knew put a Bomar Rib on a Mod 58, 41 Mag to get adjustable sights...

Doc and Bob, If I had a Bomar Doc that fit a 58 I'd send it to you. Just noting that the guns in this configuration just don't sell well on the auctions anymore.

Smith Nut - Really like the M39 with the Bomar rib. Outstanding!! First time I've ever seen this model - hope the gun still has full function on the slide action. The original M39 sights were a little crude (windage only). Nice package.
