Question .40S&W Federal Hydra-Shok Hydra-Shok 135gr.

I have one and only one .40S&W Pistol. It is a 4013 and I have it more for collection purposes then shooting. I want to have it as a back up for my 4516-1 which is my EDC. I bought some Federal Hydra-Shok 135gr ammo due to it being the only Hydra-Shok ammo around locally. Is this round to light and subject to over penetration? God forbid I ever have to use it but want to know if a heavy grain round is better. I use to have .40S&W before and the 180gr where a bit too much for recoil.
