I lick Fiocchi ammo and that's not a bad price by today's standards. I remember when that box of ammo was only $7.99. Those days are long gone... MM.M

Fiocchi makes strong ammo
I like it too. Fiocchi makes a good strong rnd. I have some of their Perfecta brand .38spl 158gr FMJs that are 'WARM' they do 900fps from a 4" S&W. I'm afraid to shoot them in my M-12. but I carry 1 first up in my M-15-3 followed by FBI loads.

Just an FYI: Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore has Winchester USA Forged (steel cased) 115gr FMJ 9mm ammo for $16.99 per box of 50 when you buy three...
Not too bad for "practice ammo" for those who don't reload...?
Cheers!

Prices are starting to drop slowly. If you bought ammo as an investment, it might be time to unload it.

$21.99 is about twice too much for a box of 9mm in my humble opinion...
You buy at the price and you only encourage the thieves who are selling 2 U.
DON'T BUY........ if you do, it will NEVER come down in price

Cracked me up to see Ammo starting to show up with the prices being 3X the Pre-Pandemic price and the dealers though it was a steal.
Now the dealers are advertising the same ammo at 2X the Pre-Pandemic price saying 'Prices Slashed!!' 'Cheaper than Ever!!".
Cheaper than EVER?!?
What's their definition of 'Ever'?

The last 9MM I bought was Cabelas - Herters at $16.99.
Wasn’t exactly overjoyed to pay the price but was glad to get some.

That's still double what we should be paying.

Patience, patience, patience, prices are slowly coming down. Will it get back to what it was, no but that's the way of the world. When it gets to .30 a round I'm jumping back in.

Was in Brownells retail store yesterday. A lot of ammo in stock.(prices still on the high side) The guy who manages the ammo and reloading components said the the supply chain is starting to get filled back up. Plenty of 9mm and .556mm stuff and quite a bit of hunting ammo on the shelves.

I'm waiting too, but it's a good sign.
To those who keep saying "it won't go back to where it was"... if you're sad about things, keep the faith and wait. If you're trying to push the market to stay high so you can profit, give it up please.
Last April, I bought ammo from Targetsportsusa. $399.99 for 1k of 9mm... Speer Gold Dot JHP. That was 50% the going rate of pre-panic, for that ammo.
The initial panic from Covid was winding down, we were a couple days before the panic from the riots started. Targetsports was sitting on a product that wasn't moving, and was taking up space in their warehouses (and getting taxed on it being in inventory). So they ran a deal to get rid of it.
If we keep waiting, eventually these sellers will have to move what they have. Will we see premium SD rds at 40 cents apiece again, probably not any time soon. But range fodder at 20 cents, I think so. That wasn't the basement, we were seeing it all over for 16 cents a rd; 20 cents is just a good round number to sit on.
Sure, there will be some buying surges from people impatient and/or not stocked, but I still think the best move is to wait, shoot off what you have, and hold out on buying as long as possible.

I get it. Prices are dropping & I was pretty stocked up way before any of the price gouging/panic buying occurred.
I always look at every product as being relative to the particular buyer's taste, needs, and ability to pay.
