Had I not read the article and knowing how much our Govt likes to overspend when buying things....I probably would've thought it was just several bricks of .22LR that was being destroyed.

Very poorly written article. Don't put a lot of stock into it. Makes no sense. The Army and the Air Force have always had a good exchange of information on arms and ammo available for exchange, esp. .50 cal., and other small arms items. Most of the $1 billion they mention is in more expensive end items like missiles. If they are serviceable, they are not going to be destroyed. Ain't happenin'. It's very hard to tell just what the article is talking about. Remember this is a USA today article re-published by Stars & Stripes. I have no confidence in what was presented.

If they have......
If they have some .30 cal. or 9mm I'll be glad to help them 'destroy' it. The Stinger missiles I don't have much use for.

Now wait just a minute!
Are you saying that even though we are ALWAYS bashing the press here for not telling it straight, for manipulating facts, for reporting with a bias, and for generally opposing or ridiculing all that is good in the world,
that we can't take it as the Gospel when we really want to believe?!!??!
