Hi folks!
I have "a question of balance".
I have a Model 15 in 4 inch, and a Rossi .38Special/.357 Magnum 16-inch carbine. I am working on the old premise of a true 'handgun/rifle combination'; one that is in the same caliber for both firearms.
My hand cannot endure the .357 Magnum, or the higher recoil of the .38 special 'plus P' rounds. I have found that I can do well with the 'standard' .38 Special NYCLAD 125 grain rounds by Federal, and that they feed in the carbine well enough.
Now, the 'balance'. The NYCLAD being what would some call 'a carry round', which in utilizing my CHL, I would employ; what other rounds would I use, as on the range, or such, to stay within that '125-grain' cartridfge loading? I know the WinQ4171 130g. FMJ-FP, or the Rem/UMC 130 grain MC exist. How would I balance out the NYCLAD, and with what cartridge, for use in BOTH the revolver(Kframe 4-inch) or rifle?
Yes, I have read of, and used the 158 grain LSWC's, but then again, the ballistics of simplicity ... one round (almost), for both firearms. I'm attempting to keep this 'KISS', the more different rounds for each firearm, the more likely, in a supposed hurried scenario, i.e., 'zombies', SHTF, and so on, to grab the wrong ones for the wrong firearm, at the worst moment, and have two clubs in your hands.
