Best bulk 9mm ammo
This is for a class that will require up to 900 rounds. There will be three from my family going so we are talking about near 3000 rounds. As far as price, Wolf and Sellier and Bellot seem to be the cheapest. However, I worry about the reliability and the steel cases (on the Wolf). Has anyone tried these out? What range experience does everyone have? I figured I can reload at about $270.00 per 2000 so about $400.00 for 3000, including the plastic ammo boxes, bullets, powder and primers (I have the brass already).
Also, if I get solid hard cast lead bullets verses jacketed or plated it is cheaper, but with 900 rounds in 4 days of class would we need to worry barrel leading? I shoot and XD and my son-in-law a Glock, not sure about the third handgun yet but probably another XD or a SW (for my daughter). I want to maximize feed reliability and minimize jamming.

Check out Ammo Man. Get the Winchester NATO (Ranger) for the class. Everything will be fine. The round itself, the brass for reloading, the accuracy and the reliabilty.
Probably more than you want to spend, but much, much better than those other brands you're looking at.

Looking at Ammo Mans prices I can still beat anything he is offering by at least 50% with reloading. The two I listed get close to what it costs to reload, still higher but I am figuring my time is worth something...

My bad, I thought you wanted the best bulk ammo, rather than the cheapest.

I can still reload it cheaper than I can get it from Georgia Arms. May get some brass from them though.

I've never had a problem with S&B and shoot a fair amount of it. Also never had a problem with Winchester or Blazer Brass. Never tried Wolf or the cheaper Blazer (steel?) stuff.

+1
If you think you can reload 100% perfect rounds, why ask where you can get bulk ammo cheap since you already know you are not going to be able to buy ammo cheaper than you can reload.

Winchester white box ball ammo is good, and available at Walmart at a good price. If you intend to reload instead, figure on jacket bullets for cleanest shooting, and reliability, as you have a Glock in the mix. Glocks do not, as a rule, do well with cast.

I've heard good things about Swiss ammo from ammunitiontogo, and they have a deal on the 9mm right now that looks pretty good.

The Dynamit Nobel (Swiss) Geco is good stuff and AIM has it cheap! All reloadable too...
Dynamit Nobel 9mm 124grn FMJ 50rd Box
Very similar to NATO ammo. I just recieved a case for a class I am taking.
Have fun and be safe.

Since you already have the brass, and apparently aren't quite ready to go into handloading, I recommend www.mastercast.net. I have fired off many thousands -- stopped counting -- of their 9mm 124gr hardcast lead truncated cone reloads (plus many thousands of .38sp 148 gr. WC). I order by thousand round lots, and send them an equal number of the same spent brass in exchange by ten dollar Priority Mail box (which will hold more). Mastercast is a Mom and Pop operation in rural western Pennsylvania. Excellent performance in all respects. Excellent.
Regarding the Glock, Mastercast also offers jacketed rounds.
Cordially, Jack
