Buffalo Bore Ammunition 255 LFN +P

I have not tried these in 45 ACP but I sure like Buffalo Bore in 44 Mag 340 gr LFN GC, 10MM 240 gr Hard Cast FN and in 45-70 Gov. 430 gr LBT-LFN. I have a heaver recoil spring in my 10MM and I would suspect that in your 45 ACP, you will need at least a 2 lbs heavier than stock recoil spring.

While I can't speak for the Buffalo Bore load, I have duplicated the exact same loading with the Lee 255 gr. RNFP which I have been casting for quite a few years now. I have used a reduced version as a match load on occasion in my Glock 21 with Bar-Sto barrel and reliability has always been perfect. I save the full power stuff for my 625 revolvers. Just keep an eye on your spring weights and how much the brass expands in the area of the unsupported chamber.

I'm sorry but I just can't jump on the Buffalo Bore band wagon. I can't bring myself to pay $1.50 or more for one round of ammo that's isn't all that different from most of the other ammo available on the market. (and nowhere near as good as the ammo I load)

If I ever run for public office I will hire the PR people from Buffalo Bore because they have done a good job selling the company's products.

I'm with Mr. Sinko - I've been handloading rounds that do exactly that for a bit now. I've shot them through my P220 Compact (950 fps from the 4" tube) and through my Ruger P90 (it's a tank), but I mostly save them for the 625-3.

I have shot several different Buffalo Bore loads in different calibres and all of it has shot great.

In answer to the OP question, I have not tried this load yet, but do intend to soon. I will chronograph the load as I usually do just because I like testing it personally, and will post results after doing so.

As far as the cost of BB ammo............

Yes it is pricey, however I don't think the ammo was ever designed for shooting 100 rounds a week at paper or steel targets. I carry the BB ammo in my Chief's Special and in my M65, and although I will shoot a dozen or so of my carry loads a year just to stay familiar with them, I do not shoot hundreds of rounds of the stuff at a time. That being the case, the cost per round is of little importance here, as my life is worth the 20 or 30 bucks a year it costs me. For routine practice, I will hand load - not trying to duplicate the BB ammo, but to get close enough to the "feel" of the ammo to make it viable practice ammo.

The BB +P 38 Spl. and .357 loading's are SO FAR SUPERIOR to what is otherwise available that to me the cost of shooting a few rounds per year is negligible. Anyone who has not tried the stuff has to shoot it for themselves to see what all the rage is about:
1) accuracy
2) actual chronograph verification - out of YOUR carry gun
3) reliability
4) controlability in YOUR gun

I realize one size will never fit all, but the 5 or 6 loading's have shot and tested so far has really impressed me enough to use BB ammo as my go to carry load weather in my M60-7 or M65 - whether I am in the streets or in the woods. Just my opinion of course.
