Default .303 shell

yesterday i was digging in an old dump site and i came across a shot .303 savage shell. the top is rusted off but the bottom of the shell is clearly readable. it reads .303 S.A. SAV. CORP. if anyone has any information on it could you let me know, thank you.

Most likely a 303 Savage round, which was the Savage competitor to the 30-30. Chambered in the Savage 99.

The headstamp you listed was used from 1917 thru 1963.
