I have received many emails and read plenty of other stuff concerning the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. You don’t know what’s true and what’s bull. I’m going to lean toward a lot of it is true.

My wife told me something yesterday that doesn’t surprise me. She talked to a guy that had come to her office that owns several businesses and one being a gun shop. She asked him if they had been selling a lot of guns. His reply was not so much guns as it was mainly ammunition. He said there had been a run on the ammunition lately.

What’s it like in your area?

I’m going to list all my calibers and see if you can recommend what I should make a run on. Big Brother already knows I have them, so, I’m not afraid to list them. If your out there monitoring this site Hello.

In the handgun and rifle area I can reload all but the 22 naturally, the 45 colt long and the 270. No shotguns period. Which do you think I should be reloading for Dooms Day?

357 with some hot but stable HP's. They will be good in your pistol and rifle, For the rifle I'd reload the 30-06 with a near max load that groups in your gun. I'd look into a 22 Mag and stock up on a bunch of bullets for it. 12 gause, 3" mag with BB's or #4 buckshot. I killed 3 with one shot last year when we had an outbreak of them her in NWFL.

I'm a fan of the 30-06 and the 38/357. Those are the 2 I would concentrate on.

I think that's the strategy of this administration. NRA is still too powerful to stop gun sales so they are choking off the ammo supply.

Riffle ammo, for the more common calibers, is plentiful and not too expensive right now. I found a great "buy 3 get one free" deal at a local sporting goods store just before deer season so I'm all stocked up on 30-30 and 270.

Pistol ammo is the issue. I checked in with the same noted sporting goods store last Saturday and their pistol ammo shelves were nearly bare. The sales guy noted that they had done over $11K in ammo sales alone in one day.

My problem is that I shoot primarily 40SW and .380ACP - two of the most popular calibers right now. It is available but very expensive. I see that you don't shoot those so - I agree with ArchAngle - 38/357 would be what I'd focus on right now with 45ACP being a close second.

Ammo supplies in Central PA are still good. Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown just had a great sale on Blazer Brass 9mm for $208/case and Blazer .22lr for $149/case. They are always well stocked on ammo with very good prices. One thing I really like about this shop is they stock a large variety of rimfire ammunition.
