180gr. SXT in a Mod. 66-2
I'm trying to find out if a Mod 66-2 2/12 bbl. can handle the 180 grn, Ranger SXT, before I try it for a back up when hunting.
Thanks,
Rick

A Model 66 in good operating condition can handle any and all ammunition loaded to SAAMI specifications.
Winchester 180 grain Ranger SXT (formerly Black Talon) is loaded within specifications.
I put many thousands of these through my Model 60 and 640 J-Magnums before I ran out

Thanks, I thought it would be safe, but wasn't sure. I know it's gonna be a hand full if I do shoot them. I've shot them though a 6" Dan Wesson a few times, but never in a 2 1/2'' bbl.

I shot black talons through my model 66, and the Ranger SXT was the SAME EXACT THING
