You better buy up all the 7.62x39 you can. It's disappearing like .223 and the prices are going sky high.

Nothing on the shelves here. So I had to resort to desperate measures. We are in between houses after a recent relocation with my company. All of my dillon reloading equipment is packed up. So I was forced to improvise and reload the way I did years ago. Since I bought moma a new car for Christmas she gave me a pass-LOL

If you didn't start ordering cases of your favorite calibers the day after the election, you're behind the curve.
I've been buying more than I shoot since GW Bush lost.

During the middle of the summer I stocked up a fair amount, with thoughts of November down the road. Figured just in case anyways, prices may not get any better. Now seeing what I'm seeing, or lack of, I'm glad I did.

No shortage here either. I learned my lesson about factory ammo when Clinton took office and I handload.

Doing Ok in NH....can get single boxes of 9mm fmj all day, and my LGS still regularly has bulk 9mm every week or so, but it is bought up pretty quick. 9mm jhp of many varieties is available as well...that's all I shoot (short of 22lr and cf hunting rifle), so that's all I've noticed

Like many of you, I bought center fire "components" over the span of many years. Since it won't get any cheaper, late in October I ordered 8# of rifle powder which was part of a large gun club order. That order has yet to be confirmed.
As for loaded factory ammo, all popular calibers are sold out... including .22 LR bulk packs.

Northeast PA, no real problems. Shelves are overflowing at Gander Mtn., Advance Arms in Pittston has whatever you are looking for and cheapest around, Dick's, couldn't say as I don't go there anylonger.

I'm not buying right now. The 1000 rounds of Federal M193 I bought pre-Sandy Hook, was $415 delivered, it is now over $1000. No way, will I buy into this hysteria. I've got 3K rounds of .223/5.56 on the shelf, that will have to last until the price comes down. Or I need to dip into the 10k rounds of .22LR I've got.

I was talking with a buddy about his 2 m&p 15's. as he raved about them I asked "you have ammo?" To which he replied "no I'm out but there is plenty on the Internet!"
I told him to enjoy his 2 $1000 clubs. Every link he send me I told him....put it in the shopping cart and watch the April backorder status message.
Yeah...he's bumming.

here in southeast missouri it is almost impossible to find .223 ammo although I found some today. at 15.00 for a box of 20 I thought it was to high. I did buy 250 rounds of speer gold dot hollowpoints bulk ammo for 70.00. I am gonna use that in my 45 acp mountain gun.

If you can get 20 rounds for $15 better snatch it up. Colorado you can't get 5.56 or .223
Went to my fave gun shop today, they had an AR 308 for $2900 basic, an AR 22lr for $1800, and there is a 14 day backlog on CBI checks. They have over 12,000 requests in.

Buy all the 223 ammo you can find!
Buy all the 7.62X39 you can find!
Buy up all the primers when you see them!
My local dealer had 10,000 primers on the shelf, I bought them all!
Order 100,000 .224" bullets, hurry!
Powder, send me 6X 8lb jugs!
I just saw 24X 30 round mags at the local store, I bought them all.
I was just at a store that had 4 cases of 9mm ammo, I bought all of it!
Hmmm, I wonder why there is a shortage of ammo and components?

Okay in IL....but no big surprise there actually, ammo's pretty short, but I'm buying components anyways. I still try to buy loads of large pistol primers because I remember what happened in 08...couldn't find primers for love or money.

I am hoping this entire thing blows over soon. I just got my AR in November and I don't have a decent reserve of ammo built up for it yet. Thing is fun to shoot to boot. I think a trip to the local wally world is in order.

Good luck at WM! I went to my local WM yesterday and all they had was .177 and .22 caliber pellets.

All small primers are invisible. Since the military calibers are 9mm and 223/5.56 small pistol and small rifle primers disappeared first.

At the local gun show last weekend, people were buying not by the box or by the case but by the 5000 and 10000 lot. All ammo sold out quick and I was able to add a few 1000 primers and some bullets. I would say with the pending (both US and especially in IL) drastic gun laws, it is panic buying and prices are showing it.

Not only ammo Gentlemen.....Firearms of any kind are flying off the shelves and mags, even those of 10 round capacity is being snapped up faster than they can hit the shelves. Take a gander at the large vendor's inventories and you'll find large gaps in all three categories.

Give it a couple of months and things will calm down. Once any drastic bills fail in the House of Reps things will improve. It's all just panic.

For the most part I agree. I do think some legislation will come. Primarily magazine capacity. I highly doubt there will be complete bans and definitely not confiscation but I also believe things will be done in baby steps to slowly chip away at our current rights. A buddy of mine in the military said "they will boil the frog slowly so it doesn't jump out of the pot". He is from the south ya know! lol

Oh no doubt but by then I fear several bills would have been passed and a certain momentum established. We are at a crossroads in relation to our gun rights and the gains we've experienced in the past decade, I believe, will slowly but steadily be eroded to levels never before experienced.

Hi everyone and Happy New Year. As a American who loves the constitution as founded and with the uncertany on hand I saw this coming and started stocking(more guns and ammo) in November. In Southern Oregon PMC 556 is at one store for 7.99 a box with 20 box max. All other ammo except for a few hand guns and not so popular calibers and long range (.300win, 7mm, 338) are gone or 5 times the price. You should have different effective (under 200 yard) calibers. There will be a demand probably for atleast 6 months due to reasonably priced ammo companies like PMC (who supplies 20% to 30% of the factory loads in the US) who are reducing and not shipping some calibers to the US due to North Korea. Buy all the reloading gear and product you can. It will be restricted in 2014 (it is in the Obama care bill). Any semi auto rifle in 556, 223, 762x39, 308, 9mm, 45, 40 and most other calibers except 22lr are gone in Oregon and online. Many hand guns are still available (most calibers) NOTE: It is estimated that there are over 3 million payed for orders for the above calibers in semi auto rifles, after talking with many who supply and sell guns. There are many more retail orders as well. If Obama and his peers get stupid (which they will) it will get worse. The good news is so far violent crime is way down in our area even with less police. I wonder why? Keep your faith and good luck to all.

CTD has posted that their HK91 Mags that they were recently selling for 2 bucks apiece were out of stock at $59 each. I think they had had jillions in stock.

That they do at in excess of 30% markup since last month on the popular calibers. Sportsman Guide and Cheaper than dirt won't ship to New Jersey and I can't understand how Lucky gunner stays in business with his predatory pricing but it is a free market.
I only hope they are remembered when the din dies down and the vendors that kept their prices at reasonable rates are again replenished.

NE Ohio there is virtually no rifle ammo and no AR or AK rifles to be had. only bolt actions. I did find some 7.62 x 39 Tulamo at lunch but it will be gone by dinner. I know one GS owner who has ammo and AR's but won't put them out. He is selling them on GB instead where he can get exorbitant prices and not make his customers mad. I know he has the stock because he told he planed this months ago.
Handgun ammo is fine.

Hapworth, The new poster- doge- may have been referring to CIFTA (Its title is the Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Amunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials.) treaty, wherein ammo and the manufacture of,on any scale, is required to be licensed. I haven't read the Affordable Health Care Act, or War and Peace, because they're both too long...

My memory is still razor sharp and regrettably I tend to hold a grudge.

bullets for reloading
EVERYTHING is getting scarce. I just bought some bullets and I had to settle for what I could get instead of what I wanted. I'm glad I reload because factory ammo is so expensive, but if you can't find components for reloading, it's no help. Looks like I picked a great time to revive my shooting/reloading hobbies.
