Little good luck, little bad luck
Figured after work this morning I'd stop at Wal Mart and check the ammo supply. Normally I would start the truck, let it run 15 seconds and leave. Today I waited a few minutes. (remember this) So, I walk to the case in Wal Mart just in time to see the last of the Federal 100 round paks of .223 going into someone's cart. 5 minutes earlier... Oh well. They did have 3 100 round paks of Federal 9MM (which i bought), 6 100 round paks of Winchester 9mm, 10 boxes of 9mm HP's and a bunch of .45. No .22LR. That was sold within 15 minutes.
It is nice to see ammo starting to show up again though.

Jeeze buddy you must live right. Our local wally world has not had any pistol ammo in the displays since Christmas. In fact was there yesterday only to be shown empty shelves. No slugs or buckshot, just shot loads for the duck and geese hunters. I sincerely hope the hoarders or resellers sit on this expecting to make a killing and the bottom drops on them. But have a feeling that this shortage is going to last a lot longer than any we have had before. Frank

Just scored 6 boxes of Federal 9mm bulk pack of 100's for my supply. No 22LR's in stock, though. Their prices have barely changed since before this shortage. Keeping a daily ammo watch on the WalMart site has finally paid off.

My WalMart has ben getting ammo pretty regular. Just gotta be there at the right time to get it. The lady said they've been getting .22 but it's gone in 15 minutes.

Local Walmart here in Clark Cty NV had a few packs of W-W 12 and 20 gauge slugs, some CF sporting rifle ammo and plenty of the low-brass shotgun loads which are always there. 3 box/pack maximum.

I got to actually get 2 boxes of 225 packs of Golden Bullets @ $10 a box from Wally World. They had a new and improved logo on them. I even left the other 2 on the shelf since the fellow behind the counter was nice enough to bring out the rest of the ammo from in back for us late afternoon shoppers. I figured if I only bought 2 and left 2 the ammo gods would favor me with some good karma.
I also resisted the temptation of buying the 4 boxes of 9mm on the shelf and turn around to play capitol venturist on the auction sites. Again just lookin for that karma

When I am out and about I do drop in and look but there is less and less every time. The Wal-Mart in my town is out of everything except rifle hunting ammo (non-.308 or .223), .410, and some 20/28 gauge loads.

I'd say you had more good luck than bad.

Everyone around here has shotgun shells in stock. Walmart, dunhams, gun shops, etc. All kinds.
