Our local Bass Pro in St Charles, MO has limited you to 1 box of a value box (100 count or more) or 5 boxes of 50 count.

That is total, NOT per caliber. So if you buy a box of 100 9mm, you are done. If you buy a box of 525 22lr, you are done.

The good news is they did have a pretty good supply of both 9mm and 22lr this morning. Will be gone by noon.

The employee said they were tired of people buying their ammo and resellilng it at a large profit. So, they put these limits in place.

Last time I was there they had one box of 9MM at a nice price of $41.95. This was the one in Nashville.

Excellent... I hope we see more of this... free market and all

I've also seen an uptick in the number of ammo crack whores selling 1 or 2 boxes per sale item on Gun Broker.

You know I don't really fault the seller's for this. All the blame lies with the buyers. If people would quit buying at these outrageous prices they would quit selling. I can't lie, I had some extra mags and a couple wanted them. Traded one for two bricks of 22lr and sold one. The money I made off the one I sold I turned around and bought six more mags for normal cost. I didn't really want to get rid of them but couldn't pass on the offers. Does that make me one of the bad guys now?

wow that is crazy today i stopped by bass pro shop in the morning and bought 5 bricks of .45 and the guy was happy to sell it bought 4 winchesters 100 round and 1 remington 100round. but that is over here in tx

I bought 10 boxes of independanc 5.56 (20 rnds box) for $10.68 each afew weeks ago and just picked up an Isreal made 30 rnd polymer mag for $19.99 from Bass pro. Great store!

The Independence MO store now limits to 1 bulk box and 2 other boxes as of Wednesday. Most high demand ammo is behind the counter and its a take a number system.

I watched the two fellas in front of me each by the Winchester 40 round varmint load .223, I got two 20 round FMJ boxes of Winchester. The varmint loads were about six-seven dollars more than the two FMJ boxes.

I told them I appreciated the rationing as that's the way I get it now. Customer Rep said 'yep, resellers can't get it all now'.

They apparently stock periodically as there were no FMJ loads when I first checked and 15 minutes later they 10-12 boxes of 20 FMJ. Go-Figure.

Well I never! How dare they curtail "free enterprise" with this blatant attack against "capitalism"?! It's my God-given right to clean the shelves of local retailers and hawk my gains on auction websites at inflated prices! Rest assured, I intend to boycott Bass Pro Shops for promoting this agenda of "social welfare"! HARRUMPH! HARRUMPH! HARRUMPH!

Sorry. Couldn't resist. :D

N.B. For the humor-impaired, the above paragraph was satire.
