Well he's probably not far off. I collect and trade in obsolete rimfire ammo and usually loose 32 rounds sell from $1 to $2 each depending on condition. People seeking shootable rounds for an old gun or some for a display are the primary buyers at the gunshows. They don't make it any more after all. The last production was the Navy Arms stuff made in Brazil back in the 90's and those boxes often sell for $100 or more.

If you are looking for ammo to shoot, stick with the full boxes of common brand 1920s and newer production or Navy Arms boxes. It seems that people who sell non-boxed cartridges try to get exorbitant prices. I have seen several full boxes going for around $75 recently, so check all the websites and keep looking.

I have no use for it. I was just doing my daily local classified browsing and seen them.
