I just purchased a SD9VE and this is my first time owning a gun. i got some Aguila 9mm 124 grain ammo from a buddy. i tried to load one and it seemed to stick in the chamber and wouldn't completely cock back. Does anyone know if this is due to the ammunition i have? Any help is greatly appreciated. also any recommendations for future ammo would be great. Thanks!

There is not set rule for ammo recommendations. Some work better in one gun some in another, even if its identical ammo and identical guns. Only thing to recommend is if you are carrying, carry proven perfomers like Speer Gold Dot, Winchester Ranger, Remington Golden Sabers...etc...etc...

Agula is Remington ammo made in Mexico at a Remington plant. Its generally good target/plinking ammo.

Have you cleaned your gun yet? Try cleaning first there might be factory grease still in the chamber.

I don't know much about guns as I am new here but from what I have read since I have been here I was going to recommend the same as Arik about cleaning the gun. I have not tried 9mm Aguila, only .22lr

Check the box that the ammo came in & make sure you have the right stuff. Ammo for your gun should be labeled as any of the following:
9mm Luger
9mm Parabellum
9x19

If it says 9x18 or 9mm Makarov (or Mak for short), you won't be able to use it since that ammo is made for a version of 9mm gun that's typically sold in countries where military calibers are not allowed. In the recent ammo-drought I've almost picked up a box or two of the Mak in my blind haste to grab what I could. A closer inspection before checkout saved me from a booboo.

As was said earlier, give the gun a very good cleaning, it will solve a lot of problems.

Follow the above suggestions. FWIW, I've fired over 1K rounds of Aguila 9mm with no issues.
