Default Ammo buying habits

I went into Walmart yesterday to get dog supplies, and out of habit I walked past the ammo counter. The clerk asked if he could help me, so I asked if they had any .22lr in stock. I was stunned when he said yes and said they had Mini-Mags. I took a box [of 100] and walked to the register to pay. He asked if that was all I needed. Since I had assumed a one-box limit, I asked for another box. He put another on the counter. Both at the regular price. Just like before the crisis. I didn't ask for more than two, so I don't know if they had a limit. But things are looking up. This was mid-afternoon. Usually the early morning campers get everything that comes in.

Glad you found something. I've been buying a little of all supported calibers here and there.

I will not be at all surprised if we see another round of "panic buying" later this year. So I'm stocking up a bit, without being a hoarder.

I've been buying online, cuz NO gun shops by me can keep .22LR in stock.
If they do have it, they'll let you buy 1 40rd box of American Eagle for $9.60, daily.

I'm lucky, I started buying some extra .22's when they started all their panic tv shows about the Mayan end of the world junk. I thought people might get a little crazy the closer to December we got so bought some to have on hand. World didn't end, but easily buying ammo and reloading supplies sure did. Hopefully things normalize before the next big crisis pops up.

Hey sovietguy. ********р********вет!

I have no idea if it will be December, or November, or January, or February.

I do expect, at some point, the gun world will change again, and scare people into buying stuff they do not need, or should have purchased previously.

We will see.

Default We're not out of the woods yet

There will be another panic as we get closer to the implementation of the ammo registration bills in the northeast. New York will require background checks for ammo purchases next January so you bet every New Yorker is going to stockpile before then.

I think Connecticut and Cali both have some sort of ammo bill as well, so I'd say get what you can when you can at whatever price your comfortable paying.

Throw in the approaching 2014 primary and general elections for congress and the continued push for gun control and life will be rough for us. We all need to put some cash away to support those who support us.

+1.

Oh why not -
+2.

And send letters be it email or traditional. Politicians know that someone who takes the time to write is serious.
