Nice old collection. Sadly, I remember some of those boxes. Back then packaging had some character.

Once in a (RARE) while one of the Old Timers will bring some REALLY OLD ammo in pristine boxes down to the Range to shoot. If I spot him before he rips open the box I will offer him two boxes of my reloaded ammo (or modern rimfire ammo) in place of his old stuff. Most times they are kind enough to only take one for one, but I have never had one of my offers turned down! Most of the "old timers" are true gentleman who are at the end of their shooting days and just happy to have someone to talk to down at the Range. The year of manufacture means nothing to them and as long as it goes bang they don't seem to care much.
About 4 years ago I traded (one for one) 3 bricks of vintage ammo for 3 bricks of modern Winchester Wildcats. I got two bricks of Remington 22 LR and one brick of Winchester 22 LR all from the mid to late 1950's. These are still in pristine condition and have never been opened. Of course they could always be shot if I really run out, but I doubt that will happen.

Wonderful old ammo! Agree... not for firing. Probably would shoot just fine. But ammo is available. This needs to be saved.
