Had a chance to get a bucket at Cabellas yesterday. I've used Golden from 100 Rnd boxes without issue. Is the ammo in the bucket the same quality? Can't be choosey, buy what I can get. Like to know others experience.

These are excellent plinking or target rounds. I own several of these buckets in my stash and they are fine.

Actually I did. My wife bought one also. I accept the gold flakes as I have seen them with other CP rounds.

They are good bullets . My grown son just shot a bunch of them thru my Anschutz Sporter and he was totally amazed at how accurate they were. I offered him some CCI std vel but he refused the good stuff, because the Rems were doing so well.
Golden bullets are one of my favorite .22lr rounds for my M&P 22. They always fire, they are fairly accurate, and you can get them for 5 cents a round. I would buy a bucket in a heartbeat if I saw one.. I'm down to my last 200 golden bullets!

I'd like to have the bucket of 1400 rounds of Golden bullets I ordered from Midway on 12-2-13'. But alas, it hasn't showed up yet.
Then I too would have a bunch of gold flakes all up in my 10/22's reciever.

So has something changed with Remington .22 ammo ? A while back everyone and their great aunt were bad mouthing .22 ammo from Big Green.

Something may have changed, my guess is folks are just starving for ammo. An average man will think dog food is pretty good after going 10 days without eating.

My Ruger MKII will choke with any other ammunition. There never has been anything wrong with it other than Internet innuendo. You get one shooter having problems for whatever reason and everybody piles on. .22's always have been ammo sensitive.

A while back, the Golden's had problems with their primers.
I would have a bunch of hits, but the bullet wouldn't shoot.
I contacted Remington (maybe 18 months ago), and then sent me a mailing label to send back what I had left. I sent them about 2-300 of the 525 round brick that remained.
A few weeks later, I received 2 bricks of the 'NEW AND IMPROVED' bricks which functioned fine. The letter with it said they were having primer problems that they have attended to.
It seems however, that today, some of their boxes say new and improved, while others do not. I recently bought a few bricks of the "value box" (not new and improved) with 550 rounds, and ended up selling the unopened boxes as I had problems with them in my semi Ruger.
The other day I bought 3 boxes (225 rounds) of the new and improved, so I'll see if they still work as well as the used to.
Again, you can only buy what's available, and not much is available. Got lucky, as they were just putting these on the shelves at WM in the early afternoon.

Used the Rem. GB's to modify some ProMag 10 rd. mags. to 32 rd. capacity. Some of those GB's were cycled through the 15-22 at least 15-20 times in the course of figuring out exactly what I needed to do to get everything right. Then I used those rounds to hand-cycling the magazines to check that each one fed correctly. Then I took those same rounds and loaded them up in the newly modified magazines and headed to the range. Fired all the Rem. GB's along with IIRC 500 rds. of CCI Mini-Mags. They all fed, fired and ejected in exactly the same way as the CCI MM. Accuracy on target was virtually identical for 10 shot strings fired at 25 and 50 yds. prone slow-fire. Only had 250 of the GB's as that was all the local hardware store had. At the time had the CCI MM b/c they also were available. Did not realize just how difficult it was going to be to find/buy more. If you see buckets of the GB's buy them! They work superlatively in the 15-22.

Now any rumor that helps me buy I enjoy reading. No problem here either.Keep a eye out I just got 1,575 rds. of Fiocchi for $122.00 delivered. Maybe .22 is making a comeback finally.
I think the thunderbolt ammo is what many have issue with. I have had so much trouble with it, even in revolvers that i give it away.

My experience with Golden Bullets in the 525 bricks and the 225 packs from Wal-Mart has been good. But I've never used the 1600 round bucket of bullets... I can't imagine it's any different though? I recently got a box of Winchester 333 and when I tried it in my Ruger SR22, it wasn't always picking up the next round and I had multiple FTFs with it. So I went to the ammo locker, got out some GBs and bang, bang, bang, bang... well you get the idea. So, I'd be excited to get more, however that seems pretty high from Cabela's. The last 525 round brick I got from them a few months ago was $25.99 after tax. That would mean the bucket of ammo is almost double that price. Maybe I just didn't realize there has been such a significant price increase???

I wouldn't give GB to my worst enemy. They go click far too many times. And as for what I've seen upon inspections of my weapons. These are the dirtiest of all rim fire.
If it's not CCI, I just won't shoot. Luckily .22lr is plentiful around here though.

I've bought the GB in 50, 225, 525, and 1400 Bucket quantities. I've seen no difference in the rounds from the different packages.
As to working, because they are HP, I have some issues with my 1911-22 feeding. They work fine in a 10/22 and revolver.
It is what everyone else is hoping for at local WM when ammo comes in, but then there I am, hoping for CCI MM solid points or Federal Auto Match.
I'm concerned about the price. The last bucket I found was at an Academy, and was $70. I'm hoping you bought the two for that $147 total.
Just be sure and check the bucket, and if you are not going to use it for a while, check them. Being a bucket, if they get damp they will get pretty nasty looking on the bottom layer (been there, done that).
