John, try Georgia Arms and SG Ammo dot coms. SG usually had Winchester Cowboy loads and Georgia has good quality re-manufactured ammo-when it's in stock!

Just call Georgia Arms--if they don't have in stock they will make some up for you if they have the components.

Best way to feed a 44 Special is to start handloading. Way cheaper.

Thanks for the responses!
Think I'll give Georgia Arms a try.
Ironhead 7544, you're right about reloading, just haven't gotten around to it again.
Best, John

I checked out Underwood & I can get 300 rounds of 200gr jacketed HP for $210 with shipping. Has anyone purchased from them & if so what can I expect?

You can expect TOP loaded ammo for caliber.
Underwood bases its reputation on providing the customer with the most powerful ammo possible for a given caliber.
Clearly not all .44 Special "handguns" will be up to such a bruising cartridge.

Thanks for the reply Hans. The gun I would be purchasing the ammo for is a 329ng so I would imagine any 44 special would be OK.

Do you want full-bore or practice loads? Most Underwood stuff is HOT. It is excellent ammo for hunting and self-defense. If you want some plinking loads call Georgia Arms.

Prior to using handloads only for fiscal reasons, I purchased .44 spcl ammo from LAX. Great reliable product. Either factory new ( 250 rnds. 240g $130 ) or reloaded for $10-$15 less. Check with others for reviews, but I have ran through thousands of these rounds with no issues. I consider their product top shelf and can't beat their prices. Made by shooters for shooters.

300 rounds of 200gr jacketed HP for $210 with shipping! It doesn't take much handloading for the equipment to pay for itself.
