Default What do we have here

As usual my local cabelas stays stocked with .22lr. But they dont always have what im looking for. Preferably CCI suppressor or some CCI SV. So of course there isnt much here worth looking at. For some reason i felt like stopping by my local WM afterwards. Something catches my eye at first, the 500rd box of CCI SV. Then i see this 500rd black box of winchester that I dont recall seeing before. And if i did see it, i probably skipped over it without paying attention to it. I decided I'd grab both boxes and call it a day. I'm curious about this black box of winchester. I'll throw some down range unsuppressed and see how it acts.

Winchester Super-X 40 grain .22LR Power Point is a tremendous small game load known for accuracy and down range thump. Looks like Winchester found a way to add 2 grains weight and 40fps muzzle velocity. I hope they have not screwed up perfection.

I looked for months until I found a couple of boxes of WW 42MAX. I have a CZ452 that really groups well with the old WW 40gr Power Point and WW 40gr Hyper Velocity, so I figured the 42 MAX would be the ticket.

When I finally tried it, it didn't group nearly as well as the loads I already had. I gave it to someone who wanted to use a 22LR revolver for concealed carry.

That's the mother lode of .22 ammo. I haven't seen a single box at Cabelas in a couple of years.

That is an impressive stash of 22 for sure! We're starting to see it back on the shelves fairly consistently around here- isn't quite as cheap as it used to be but what ammo is? A bulk ammo retailer has 900 round crates of Mil-surp 7.92mm Mauser at $495????!!!! I used to shoot that stuff up in high school for next to nothing...times have changed.

The 42gr stuff I found was made in Australia - is that the case with yours ?
