AGUILA 9mm Ammo concerns

My son and I were doing some target shooting at the gun range yesterday. We were using AGUILA 9mm ammo. We were using FNP-9 and Glock 9mm firearms. Of the 80 or so rounds we shot between the two guns we had 2 rounds explode in the FNP-9, 1 explode in the Glock, and 2 casings jam in the Glock attempting to exit post shot. Originally we thought the FNP-9 was the culprit until we switched to the Glock and had the same experience. At that point we realized it was an ammo issue and not a gun issue. We then looked for the casings and found 2 of the exploded casings on our shooter table. Upon examination we discovered the bullet casings were blown open around the perimeter of the base of the casing. The exploded rounds left black GSR on our hands and it felt as though we had several Black Cats firecrackers explode in our hands simultaneously leaving our hands stinging and numb. We immediately switched to Federal 9mm ammo and didn't have any issues at all. We won't be using the AGUILA ammo again. Has anyone else experienced this with AGUILA ammo or other ammo??

You guys must be slow learners. It took three cases blowing out before you decided you have an ammo problem.

Never had it happen and hope it never will. Glad you are OK.

Aguila ammo

1000 rds of Aguila 124gr in matches last year with zero issues.

Enough confidence to buy another case two weeks ago.

Any surprises with this case I'll let you know.

All shot in a FS MP9.

How old is your Aguila ammo? What bullet weight and type, HP or FMJ?
I had some Aguila 115gr FMJ that I bought about twenty years ago
that was pretty hot. Chronographed at about 1250 fps out of my BRN
HP. I bought a case of Aguila 115 gr FMJ about two years ago that I
consider to be near junk. Chronos about 1075 fps out of the same HP
and will not even cycle the action. Really watered down from old spec.

I've shot a couple thousand rounds of Aguila 9mm without any issues. It's not my first choice since it shoots real dirty and smells funny, but I'll buy it if it's available at a great price. Any manufacturer can have occasional qc issues.

I traded into several boxes of Aguila .38 Auto 130gr FMJ. Fed 'em to my Astra 400 and Star Modelo Super with the only issue being that fired cases from the Astra would not chamber in the Star, even after full-length sizing.

I've had good luck with Aguila, no problems at all, couple thousand rounds. But I agree about it being a little smokey.....

You could have the ammo tested or send it back to the company after advising them of the problem, to see what is going on.

I had no issues with this ammo but I shoot a tank that eats anything.

Shot a lot of it over the years. Still have and use a bunch. Never heard of this l. Could be a bad lot, I'd contact Aguila about it.
