38 Special Hi-Speed or 38 Special Super X factory loads
Anyone still have some of this vintage ammo:
1. Remington 38 Special "Hi-Speed" 158 gr LRN at 1,090 fps
2. WW 38 Special "Super X" 150 gr LRN at 1,060 fps
(...velocities from 6 inch factory test barrels)
anyone ever shoot these? Any velocity data? Guess in real world these would be 1,000 fps + in 6 inch revolvers. I recall shooting them in the early 1970s before the +P designation, and was pretty impressed with them. Not as hot as original pre war WW2 38-44's (@these were 1,125 fps in 6 inch) but appear to be in the same ball park.
