Understood but I'm not going to recommend a car I've never seen, touched, driven or eaten a Big Mac in.
Lots of folks get awful defensive about their choices, based on never using them.

However, if you had used a particular .38 special round to actually defend yourself, how many self-defense shootings would it take for you to deem the specific round that you used as "adequately proven" to warrant your recommendation?

From what I can tell on this thread, an example of one trumps 100 examples of none. YMMV

So it seems that you are stating that someone who has been involved in a few shootings while using a given round has more credibility in appraising the effectiveness of that round than someone who hasn't shot anyone, but has done or seen lots of terminal ballistics tests with that round in various ballistic materials. Really?

Bullet selection or caliber hardly matters if someone is really a talented and experienced handgun shooter. I'll take all the help I can get from a suitably chosen round while I am working toward achieving Miculek's marksmanship skills.

The 125 grain Winchester LSWHP +p+ load I use I have personally known to end a fight with 1 shot. I also know that 6 of the Winchester Silvertip .380's will stop one. I personally know this. None of this do I know because of any testing on watermelons or jugs of water. This is I assume a family oriented forum so no more detail will follow.
