.45acp Factory FMJ Loads ; LPP or SPP ?
It's been many moons since I bought factory loaded range fodder for .45acp but due to circumstances I'm looking at that prospect again soon. Among the following 230 gr. FMJ loads which , if any, still use a large pistol primer that you pretty much know for certain ?
Magtech
Winchester White Box
Federal American Eagle
PMC
I know more and more seem to be going to SPP and while I'm sure I could live with them I'd prefer LPP until I can't get them and before I order a quantity it would be nice to know.
Thanks.

I don't buy factory stuff, but it was 50 round boxes had SPP and the 100 had LPP at one point. Not sure if that is true these days.

I bought some American Eagle last year and it was LPP. It was 230 gr. FMJ. That's the only factory 45 ammo I've bought in a while.

If the box is marked "Clean", "Kleen", "Environmentally friendly" or anything else indicating they don't pollute then they have small (Lead free) primers. The Lead free primer is only made in one size.

I have some current production Federal American Eagle .45 ACP that has LPP's. Also have a lot of Winchester Service Grade .45 ACP that uses LPP's. I think the others you listed also use LPP's, but don't have any current production, so can't be certain.
I have also used CCI Blazer Brass, which uses SPP's.
I have reloaded many rounds of LPP .45 ACP and more recently some SPP brass and can't tell the difference.

Sig 45 acp hardball has large primers and seems to be pretty good stuff. it is some of the best looking ammo I have ever seen. Sig took the extra step with their ammo

45ACP Large or Small PP
Not really on topic, but I reload mostly 38, so no primer arm change on my SDB. Lazy, dunno, but that's what I've heard.

Hand load?
If you're not a reloader, the primer size is but a minor issue if at all. I've reloaded both LP and SP in .45 ACP and other than the inconvenience of changing the primer feed on my Dillon 550, both primer sizes work just fine.

S&B has large primer pockets and is often on sale from various mailorder dealers. Functions fine. I have found that some S&B primer pockets are on the tight side.

.45acp Factory FMJ Loads ; LPP or SPP ?
Always subject to change, but what I find recently is that the CCI Blazer Brass and the new Federal Champion sold at big box stores are the same thing (ATK owns both makers now) and have SPP primers - I avoid them like the plague since I have several progressive loaders, with 3 set up in .45 ACP.
Those are also loaded with plated lead bullets - not all that accurate.
Federal Champion used to be primo match ammo - that is no longer the case.
The American Eagle, Winchester USA, and Remington UMC I've picked up all had LPP and good brass (Blazer brass is really thin!).
I think Federal and Winchester are using SPP in their "lead Free" ammo though.
PMC, Fiochi and RWS all seem to still be using LPP and I find all of it pretty good ammo for practice.
Lately I bought a bunch of Browning BPT flat pointed FMJ - the brass has been blackened ( I guess for its distinctiveness). It has large primers (thankfully).
