I've had this box of Winchester 12 gauge cartridges for some time and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this load. The box I have is old and I wouldn't fire the ammo but I'm curious as to the history, rarity, value, army T&E, ballistics, terminal performance, etc.

My guess is these were made in the 60's and apparently no. 4 buck but not sure how many pellets.

The rounds are marked WCC-1-2 NO. 4B SPECIAL XM257

They were made on 4/29/1971 and appear to be a Police or Military load. I believe there are 27 #4 buckshot pellets if memory serves me correctly.

I have some that are identical and they were military issue, 60’s/70’s. Sealed primers were typical for military issue during that time frame. Payload is as Yorkie Man noted.

GOLD BARS THEY AINT.

#4 Buck has it's following here. TO ME it looks like someone added a bit of primer sealant themselves. The box appears to have been stored well. I see no reason not to use/trust them. Try a few, & see.

Can't speak to the value or lack thereof, but it's a well-regarded defensive load It's what I use in my house shotgun, based on recommendations from LEO friends. .
