Default 38 special question

Any info on a Western cartridge with a headstamp:

Western

38 spl SR

Appears to be same dimensions as a regular 38 special, but not as wide a rim...possibly for a semi-auto pistol?

Any info appreciated....Thank you...

A commercial version of the 38AMU
Semi rimmless (SR) version of the 38Special so it fed better in 38Special semiauto target pistols.

The semi rim is enough so they can also work just fine in revolvers too.

I'd guess a regular 38sp shell holder should take care of them for reloading as long as the fit is decent and the case can't move side to side in it and pull free.
