I just ordered a couple of boxes of Sig Sauer Elite Performance ammo in .38+P to just try it out. Does anyone have any experience with this ammo in "any" caliber? What reviews I could find were good, but I take most reviews with a "grain-of-salt" as many writers are paid to say good things.

Any real life info/experience would be appreciated. :)

At the suggestion of a couple of fellow Marine League bullseye shooters I bought some in 9mm to shoot in matches. It appears to be a bit more accurate in my guns than other ball ammo and I’ve have no issues with it’s function.

I purchased three boxes from Cabela's when they missed priced them by about 7 dollars a box for my Sig 238 and it shot good but for the original price and as much as I go to the range Winchester white box is cheaper. To carry for defense I use ARX.

I've fired their 200gr .44 Special at the range. It was a bit softer shooting than Hornady 185gr Critical Defense, it all worked 100%, and went where I aimed.

That's about it.

The only examples I’ve tried were a dozen boxes of the 230 grain .45 ACP.

On examination, the ammunition was loaded extremely short with the bullets loaded very deep in the cases, so deeply that I believed at first that the cartridges were improperly loaded and therefore, defective.

I shot the ammo through 2 1911s including a SIG 1911 Super Target Nitron, an E Series 1911TA, a SIG P220 Super Match, P220 Carry Equinox, and a 625-8 PC revolver.

It turned out to be good, accurate, ammo that ran reliably in each of the pistols I tried it in, but I won’t be buying it again because I’m a high volume shooter and I don’t believe it’s worth the premium they get for it.

It’s my understanding that P220s are said to prefer short cartridges so maybe that’s why the SIG .45ACP was loaded so short, but my P220s have never failed to feed reliably with any ammunition and I’ve got many 10s of thousands of rounds through them.
