Does anyone have experience shooting this ammo especially in "Snubbie" shot barrel revolvers especially out of Subbie .44 Magnum revolvers like the S&W Performance Center 629 2.6". :D

I don’t have that Underwood specifically but I do have some that has 200 grain Gold Dots at 1100 FPS and some with black Elmer Keith type 245 grains At 1000 FPS.
I have four .44 Special revolvers; three of them pre war. They all gobble that Underwood up like no tomorrow.

I like your Hog Porkie. I am an old Razorback born in El Dorado, Arkansas but after my travels such as living in Wyoming for ten years, my friends say I have been tampered with. :D

I do love my big bores and big boars as well. ;)

Might not be of much help, but Buffalo Bore has a 44 Special wadcutter load that gets 913 fps our of a M296 (2.5") and a bit more out of a Charter Arms Bulldog (3").

BB's published specs are usual pretty realistic.

Also BB has a 44 Magnum wadcutter load, but they don't publish velocities for short barrel guns.

Nice to meet you, YkCorCal. My wife is from El Dorado. My family is from Point Deluce in Arkansas County; it’s township in the country near Gillette. The generations of my family have been buried there since before the Revolutionary War.

My nickname comes from moving around and living amounst Yankees. These in MN know what a Durock is; a Razorback, not so much. Anyway, I’m by no means fat.

Regards, Porkie

My first real job out of college was at a long closed General Dynamics plant in Camden, about 30 miles north of El Dorado. I grew up in Colorado and have never been a sports fan. Right after I started my new job I noticed all the Razorback bumper stickers, flags, T-shirts, etc. and asked a group of my hard core college football fan Arkansas native co-workers "What's with all the red pigs?". I didn't make that mistake again.

LOL, it is great to meet you!

I grew up in the country just outside Eldorado in a place so small the only reason the road went through town rather than around town (Old Union, Ark.) is because the two local stores (my grandfather owned one) were on one side of the road and the school was on the other side of the road. The school only went through Junior High so we had to go into El Dorado for High School. My dad got transferred over to Magnolia so that is where I went to High School. My father got transferred to New Mexico and I graduated college from Eastern New Mexico University. I hit 6'2" in the 9th grade and 6'5" my first day at Magnolia High in the 10th grade. Yes, I played basketball but I turned down a basketball scholarship to play for Arkansas Tech. Instead, I earned a full scholarship from the US Army.

My wife’s sister lives in Luder Bottoms. Old Union= LUDER Bottoms near El Dorado= Point Deluse. Two of my nephews graduated from Magnolia High. Wade and Adam Phillips. They are both big strapping lads like you. Their dad was several years younger than my wife. MD was a Vietnam vet serving in the 99th Independant Brigade.

Wade served in the 4th Infantry Div. They were in Louisiana back then; I think they are in Ft Hood now. He serviced in piece time. Those boys must be rocking on 50 now.

I have a Bulldog around the house for business work. Given the crummy vel that the gun gets, these hard case WCs seem like a good solution. With everything I've seen, Underwood just made their own version of the Buffalo Bore round...which is good considering the absolutely insane price BB wants for those things.

Personally, I bought some hard cast 185g and 250g WCs from Matt's bullets, I plan on messing with some this spring to develop my own load for the Bulldog.

Has anyone used Liberty Civil defense ammo? It is very fast and explosive.

I myself am a big fan of Underwood ammunition. I carry their 180gr. hard cast .357 when in the woods, and their 140gr. .357 extreme penetrator as my edc when carrying my GP100.
Highly recommended, as well as Lehigh, which is very similar.
