After checking about twice a day for months, I found some .357 MAG finally in stock at the Lucky Gunner website. About double the price, but that is the way of things now. As an existing customer, I ordered 3 boxes, only to find that that when I tried to check out on-line, I had a pop-up screen that read "unfortunately we cannot deliver to your location." What?? I called, and customer service said it was decided to not ship to about 5 states. I wrote back asking what the problem was, and they replied "due to everything going on right now in the country we had to suspend shipping to certain areas of the country." I followed up and asked for specifics regarding what was going on in OK that didn't allow them to ship? They said they would pass my comment along to management. Not a happy customer.

DEMAND to talk to SUPERVISOR

I would demand to talk to supervisor. There is no reason in the world that a pro gun state like OKLAHOMA should be banned.
also ask them what other states are banned and ask if it is all for the same reason or different in each state. Then I would call my STATE REP , SENATOR and Congressman and make them aware of the reason.

I just called LUCKY GUNNER and the man on the phone verified that they are not shipping to OKLAHOMA , MISSISSIPPI and ARKANSAS. When ask why ,I got a series of BS reasons all of which I contested and he could not refute . I then asked to speak to supervisor , I was left on hold for 4 minutes . Same man came back on and said no supervisor available. I told him he better find one and get the real story out there because this issue was now on S&W FORUM and probably would soon be on COLT Forum and RUGER forum and then they will be boycotted by @ 20,000 of the most active shooters in America. I gave him my name and cell number so a supervisor could call me back. So we will see if they care !

Yawn.

You don’t speak for all of us. Of course, I haven’t bought anything from them anyway sooooo ...

Thirty years ago when I lived in Arkansas my favorite supplier of all things gun related was Natchez. When I moved to Georgia they would not sell to me because they had did a lot of business with some LGS here and did not want to undercut their prices.

But when I asked why they told me. Whatever reason Lucky Gunner has for not selling to OK they should just tell us.

Dave you know the “Devil Went Down to Georgia?”

You are welcome back to the Land of Opportunity and God’s country any time.

They were running job ads in Texas for phone reps but you could *not* live in certain cities in Texas, like Austin...don't remember what cities they refused. It was because of lawsuits by those municipalities. Maybe this is also lawsuit related? Not sure how.

Austin, Texas, I understand. Their T-shirts read "Keep Austin Weird" and the city is chock full of weirdness, lefties, anti-gunners, and so forth. The risk of a lawsuit in Austin I totally understand. But not Oklahoma.

Their shipping restrictions are listed below as they appear on their website. Voluntarily adding AR, MI and OK to that list makes no sense at all.

Shipping Destination Restrictions

LuckyGunner.com does not ship outside the United States or to Alaska, Hawaii, California, Massachusetts, Chicago, New York City, or any other area within the United States where we are prohibited by law from shipping product. If you attempt to have product shipped to these restricted areas, your order will be cancelled and you will be subject to the cancellation fee described below.

I would bet this is tax dispute. AR in past year or two just started ratcheting down on collecting local and state sales taxes on on-line sales. I bet DFA is after them regarding online sales because we are one of the biggest, pro-gun states in the nation and Lucky Gunner has millions in online sales here before ammo dried up.

I agree with this theory.
Probably these states now require them to collect state sales tax for all on line sales. This requires a lot of paperwork and money shuffling. Maybe they just decided it was not worth it or are in the process of setting up the system.
Usually our boogeyman turns out to be a realistic reason and not some nefarious product of our imaginations.

WA State also requires that on line sellers collect sales tax (actually, use tax, but it's the same). It depends on the amount of business that the seller does in the State. I have heard $10,000 a year as the cut off point. It is complicated, as the amount depends on the actual location of the buyer. Seattle is higher than unincorporated Skagit County, where I live, about 60 miles North. But, we are not an excluded State. Could be because they don't do enough business here.

Best,
Rick

I don't think Sales Tax collection and paperwork is the issue. My order yesterday had tax calculated on the total, and my orders in 2019 and 2020 had sales tax included. SO that doesn't appear to be an issue. Their response (and this is a direct quote from their email) "We had to temporarily suspend shipping to a few states when everything happened last year and our legal team is working on getting us back into those states" is my red flag. I will try calling the OK AG's office and see if they can shed any light on this situation. The only thing I know specifically that happened "last year" was the lawsuit that LG was served with relating to the HS shooting in TX.
