I came across an ammunition vendor doing a search for 5.56, Green Country.Quality Ammunition for Law Enforcement.

They have some 5.56 for sale which is kind of a hodge podge and is described in part as factory seconds. The price is enticing but I have some reservations with using it in a Daniel Defense, for that matter I won't use Russian ammo in a Daniel Defense.
5.56x45 NATO 55gr FMJBT, Reman brass, Factory Seconds, Bulk Pack 400 rounds-FREE AMMO CAN!!!
Has anyone had any experience with this vendor? My best friend will run anything through his 5.56. He would be all over what they are offering. I don't want to steer him to something with possible catastrophic results.

Factories are not going to sell dangerous ammo, way too much liability. Factory seconds usually means ammo with discoloration, scratches, or dents. I suppose it is also possible that it might be ammo that did not quite make the specified velocity.

Yes, by the factories definition, Seconds have only cosmetic defects such as case or bullet staining of the brass, possibly handling scratches or slight dents.

More than likely its "blemished" factory ammo.

SIG sells blem ammo on their website. Works 100% and is just fine.

I’d be Leary. I bought .308 match Ammo through the CMP some years ago. It was loaded by a commercial company using brass they obtained from military ranges. Bad experiences with split cases and damaged rifles.

I bought 4 boxes of Speer Gold Dot that was labeled not for LE use or to be repackaged. It's been a while, but I think it was around $70 for 250 rounds.

I'm down to 188 rounds and I never had a single problem with any of it. Only difference is the cases were dull instead of being shiny nickel plated.
