Hello S&W friends.

What are some online ammo suppliers to avoid? Are there any brands that have gotten really bad that should be avoided as well?

Thank you.

I would trust online suppliers that have been around for a while, have a legitimate address that can be verified through Google Maps, and accept credit cards for payment.

Red flags would include accepting payment only with digital currency and/or online direct payment systems like Venmo or Zelle, no verifiable physical address, unbelievably low prices on items.

We've discussed a lot of scam sites on this board, but have only scratched the surface. Here are some links to discussion threads I found with a forum search:

Target Sports usually has great prices and free shipping for cases. I mostly reload, but I do get my SD & EDC carry ammo, rimfire ammo and Shotgun ammo from them. Not too long ago (a few years now) I was buying American Eagle 124 grain 9mm FMJ (Range ammo) for about $7 a box of 50. I bought a few cases as it was actually cheaper to buy than to reload. Their new price for the same ammo now is $18/50 round box so I am reloading it again. Still a good price in today's world for excellent quality. I've never had any issues or negative experiences with Target Sports.

I have never had one not send me what I have ordered.

I have been stung by a few by their shipping charges. Always make sure you know what they are going to charge for shipping before clicking 'submit order.'

I love Norma and recently discovered Red River Reloading in Texas. Their website is a little wonky and suspect but they are legit.

I pay the Premium Membership with Target Sports USA and get advanced notices when ammo I am interested in goes into stock, get an additional 8% discount off their published prices and free shipping on ANY quantity. It is worth the added $100 per year.

I have never liked shooting with my right elbow parallel. After about 60 years of skeet shooting, I doubt that I will change and I have stopped shooting registered.

Very good, sir. You gotta do what works for you.
