So many defensive ammo come in 20-25 rounds and more than a buck a round sometimes upwards of 2$ or more. I came across some Black Hills 357 magnum 125 grain stuff that's a hair under 1$ per round, comes in boxes of 50 and can be bought in bulk up to 500. Anyone used these guys ammo before and have thoughts, particularly their 357 magnum 125 grain jacketed hollows?

Good enough that the U. S. Navy buys its 77 grain Mk 262 5.56 ammunition from them. Over 20 years ago I had some very modest part of that project, and somewhere I still have some of the acceptance test targets. That is a story for another time.

Black Hills ammo is good stuff. I've never been disappointed with any of their loads over the years. Georgia Arms is right up there with Black Hills for quality factory reloads, too.

I voted for them with my feet (credit card) and have goodness knows how many thousands of rounds from BH. Buy once, cry once.

Clarification! Black Hills manufactures NEW ammunition! Eric 300s post referring to Georgia Arms would seem to indicate they are a commercial reloader like Georgia Arms.

One of Black Hills products is proof-test ammunition for many domestic manufacturers of firearms, and has been for awhile! They know what they are doing.

Thank you! I guess I worded that incorrectly. Factory LOADED ammunition.

Did anyone mention BH ammo is high quality? lol

You won't be unhappy.

Warning, be sure the site you are buying from is not a scam site. There are a lot of them over the past few years. If they only accept direct pay sources beware!

Eric300, you still have it wrong! Black Hills is a manufacturer of factory ammunition! They are not a distributor of other manufacturers products like Georgia Arms, or a "re-manufacturer" like Georgia Arms.

It's sure news to me that Black Hills doesn't "re-manufacture" ammunition! Just what IS in those blue boxes?

It's going to be either the Black Hills 125 grain or the Winchester Silvertip. I bought a box of 50 Black hills to compare the two then I'll order bulk of the winner.

I order directly from them, and have it shipped to my office. I actually stopped at their place while I was a trip to provide my credential (retiree and all that). In the last couple years they have been stuck with the same shortage of raw materials as everyone else, and some of their back order periods were a year plus.
