Hi all
I have some boxes of
Super Vel
Ultra match
Mid range match ammo 148 grain hollow base wadcutters.
I'm wondering if this is collectable ?
Or do people just shoot it up ?
Thanks for any info.
Regards
Mike

If I read the history of the company correctly, the first Super Vel cartridges were produced from 1963-75, when bankruptcy required sale of the assets. At that time, production was in Shelbyville, Indiana, which is the address that shows in your photo. The child warning was in use during that time, and that is also on the box in your photo. There is no zip code showing, which is interesting, since they started in 1963. So, perhaps relatively early boxes are what you have.
Plenty of people would say “just shoot ‘em up,” but some folks might consider them somewhat collectible, but not terribly valuable - perhaps a bit more than current prices to the right person.

I recall our supervisors inspecting our duty revolvers & the ammo in them in 1968 to ensure we were not carrying Supervel.
