Default Golden Eagle .22 LR

Ammo Planet has both HV and Std. velocity Golden Eagle on sale for $1.99 a box. Anybody have any experience with this brand? Know where it's made? Is it rebranded something else? Thanks in advance for your info.

Aguila used to (maybe still does) sell 22LR labeled Golden Eagle. If it is Aguila it's made in Mexico. I shot some, but it was so long ago I can't remember how it was. Must have been unremarkable - which is good.

I believe it's made by Aguila . If so it's made in Mexico.
I'm not a big fan of their .22 ammo but I know others who buy it by the case . In any event $1.99/50 rounds is a pretty good price.....provided it's reliable !

I checked 'em out. Price was good...shipping was horrible. 78 dollars for 100 boxes...plus Insurance 4.00

Never heard of Golden Eagle. I normally buy only CCI Std. and High Vel. 40 grain 22 ammo.

I believe that it's Aguila's premium match grade ammo but I've not fired any myself.

My wife and i have shot countless thousands of rounds of 40 grain plated Aguila Super Extra high velocity and it's become my preferred .22 lr load for general use, and I've found it to be at least as good as CCI Mini Mags, if not better.

I'd give the Aguila Gold Eagle a try.

It definitely is made by Aguila. I have only limited experience with Aguila .22 ammunition (and that involved only the SV version). But I can say nothing bad about it. Seemed to shoot as well as everyone else's. The main importer and distributor of Aguila used to be located here in San Antonio and it was fairly common locally.

I don't trust places that do that ...lure you in with prices lower than anyone else and then rock you with exorbitant shipping/handling fees.

Odd because I twice bought 40 boxes of their Aguila 40 gr standard velocity at $2.09 a box and was charged their flat rate shipping charge of $13.99. The 40 box lot was in a sealed Aguila case of 2,000 rds with no additional packaging. Maybe that's the difference.

Honestly I looked everywhere for a shipping code etc. If the shipping had been 14.00 and 4.00 instead of what was quoted I would have bought a 100 boxes. $2.17 a box is cheap delivered. Heck I bought 100 boxes from Cabela's when I got Aguila for $2.25 a box OTD. My granddaughter just scarfed a brick yesterday. I fear it will not last long.

I have managed to make two purchases from Ammo planet but their website is very difficult to navigate. They list low prices in personal emails and messages and then when you try to buy something you cant pay for your order without a mandatory code that you can't find. I sometimes wonder how they sell anything.
