Default Interesting old round - U.S. .32 S&W
I've had two of these rounds for probably 45 years, sitting in the back of a drawer and just found it. I got them from a guy that gave them to me because I found them interesting. Fast forward to today and here it is.

This is a .32 S&W round with a headstamp with a U.S. on it. The primer is also stamped US. It looks like a standard lead RN bullet, but I couldn't say what the weight is.

Any idea what era this round would come from? Is it possibly a government round because of the US? I've never heard of the government issuing firearms chambered in .32 S&W. Thanks for the help.

U.S. Headstamp is United States Cartridge Company. Primers with the manufacturers mark are prior to WWII. It may be loaded with Black Powder.

USCCo ceased operation under that name around 1930. I believe Winchester took over. Most headstamps I have seen were U.S.C.Co, so a U.S. hs might be somewhat earlier than 1930, but I don't know. It is positively NOT a military cartridge.
