Factory .32 Long ammo - opinions?
I have my first .32 Long revolver on the way (Regulation Police Target) and need something to feed it. I'll eventually reload for this one but I have no dies, bullets, or brass yet.
What is the group opinion of the current Remington "Wheelgun" 98 grain LRN ammo? Is there another factory option that you'd recommend for a gun approaching 100 years old? I'd like something that is mild, accurate, reliable, and produces good brass for reloading.

I've no experience with the Remington stuff. It is probably more expensive than most.
Any of the offerings from Prvi Partizan, Sellier & Bellot, Fiocchi, and Magtech will be fine for your gun and the brass is top quality. Here's a link to the AmmoSeek page for .32 S&W Long ammo:

The only factory .32 long I have is Magtech LRN 98 gr.
They are ok, but I mold and hand load that I think are better...

The only factory ammo I ever remember buying is Magtech 98 RNL and Fiocchi wadcutters. Mostly I roll my own. I get exactly what I want and the price is right.

Among all the factory loads available there isn't enough difference to worry about, buy whatever you can find. If you can find any the Fiocchi wad-cutter load is a very good choice.

Fiocchi wadcutters are my favorite practice loàd.
Mild recoil and accurate.
Buffalo Bore 100 gr wadcutters are my favorite self defense load. But I would not recommend them for your older gun.

I have fired the 32 long (Remington) only once (many years ago) and while I did not chronograph it, it did feel pretty anemic to me and the others who fired it.
I suppose it could be a SD round as a last resort or if that is all you have or can afford, but certainly not optimal for that purpose!

Thank you all. If I ever end up using a 1927-ish Regulation Police Target as a self defense gun, that means I will have made some truly horrible choices and the ammo will be the last of my worries. <big grin>
For my purposes the Fiocchi wadcutters sound perfect. I appreciate the recommendations.

If I didn't roll my own I wouldn't shoot any .32 revolver cartridge.
