I've used S&B in 9mm, 38sp, 45LC, 45acp, and 6.5 CM with absolutely no issues whatsoever.

They make quality ammo. I've found some of their products to be pretty snappy!

It's loaded closer to milspec than the weak sauce Remchester range fodder. I run it almost exclusively in my 9 mm pistols.

If by “CM” you mean centimeters, I want some. If you mean Creedmoor, never mind.

Like it and use it. The primer pockets are a wee bit tight so you have to work at it a little harder to reload it, but if that is not your interest it is not an issue.

Good ammo, but often has hard primers that may cause second strike issues in some guns.

I never had a problem with their 9mm ammo, but did have issues with their .38 special and .357 magnum, often failing to fire on the 1st strike, requiring a 2d strike to fire. However, all did go bang on the 2d strike. I was using a Model 28-2 shooting double action.

This was around twelve or so years ago. I did a little internet research and found their ammo had a reputation for hard primers.

I prefer S&B to all other brands for handgun ball ammo.

After my dad passed in '99 I was cleaning out his backyard shed and found a box of S&B .380. The paper box had completely deteriorated and the ammo was wearing fur coats. Months later I cleaned the lichen off them and sent all 50 into backstop heaven.

I was sold after that.

My experience is that it varies by caliber. .32 ACP is the best I have ever used. .380 ACP is pretty good. 9mm 115 gr FMJ is underloaded and inaccurate. .303 British cases had primer pockets that refused to accept US primers. 7.62x39 ammo I tried had coated brass that stuck in the chambers of my rifles. I threw it in the trash.

I've used and own S&B 9mm. It's milspec in pressure and speed. Accurate, and every one goes bang when I pull the trigger in my Gen 3's and my 365's.

Sellier and Bellot ammo is very high quality. I have used it in 7.62x25, .32 Auto, .380 ACP, 9x18 Makarov, 9x19, .38 Special and .45 ACP. It's very consistent ball ammo. My only issue is with some of the handgun brass I have reloaded. It seems the primer pockets are slightly smaller in .38 Special than comparable US brass. I found it harder to seat small pistol primers in the .38 cases. I've discarded most of their handgun brass I had collected.

I guess I just got unlucky. 10-15 years ago I was given a box by the gun shop when a purchased a used .38 Special. There were a half dozen duds in the box. By dud I mean a round that could not be made to fire in any of 3 different revolvers. I quit trying when the firing pins had worn a hole in the primer. About 6 months later after being assured by a clerk I trusted at another store that my first experience was a fluke I bought a box of .357s. Only 2 duds in this box. I might try them again if I were given the ammo, but I have bought my last box of S&B. In fairness, I'd rather have a dud than a squib, but I'd prefer neither.

Clearly the mileage of others varies.

Maybe try a Lyman primer pocket reamer?

I was wondering if someone else would say this. I don't think I've ever bought a new box of S&B, but quit reloading any I ran in to. Too often, the primer pockets have been small and crushed primers. 9mm and 40, if I remember right.

The only S&B ammo I've used is their 9mm 124gr FMJ. Most everything else, I handload but 9mm is often a make or buy tossup. I compared S&B to other factory 9mm and found that S&B is the most accurate in my guns. There have been no misfires or reliability problems at all. It's accurate enough that I use it in my CMMG carbine for metallic silhouette out to 100 meters.

Colt CZ Group recently purchased S&B so we may see greater market availability of the brand in the future. Whether it will be under the S&B name…maybe new packaging to reflect the new ownership or possibly marketed under the Colt name remains to be seen. Colt has been selling its own branded ammunition made for them by Doubletap but with an ammo supplier under its corporate umbrella makes good sense.

I believe S&B is the oldest ammunition manufacturer still in business. Since 1825.

I agree with others who have experienced a primer pocket issue reloading used S&B brass, but I only experienced crushed primers that wouldn't seat properly trying to use it with my COVID era stash of cheap Bosnian Ginex primers. Other than that, Sellier & Bellot has been fine and for a time, when I was still buying lots of factory ammo online, S&B was one of my preferred brands for 9mm and .357 range ammo.

Their ammo has always been reliable and decently accurate for me. Unlike one other poster I have never had a misfire with any of their ammo, including rimfire, that I can recall. And I have been shooting S&B ammo at least since the 1970's (when a local shop got some at a bargain price) and regularly since then.

My only complaint with them was reloading related. Primer pockets seem to run abnormally tight on all their centerfire ammo and the rifle brass doesn't seem to hold up well to multiple reloads (usually suffering neck splits). In one particular caliber, due to the generous chambers of 303 Lee Enfields I will only neck size that caliber. Had a couple cases separate on the second reload years ago, don't want a repeat of that.

I bought some eons ago and I can't really remember the results. But the brass inventory page in my notebook has a notation to throw S&B brass away.

I second this, their 357 FMJ is my favorite target ammo. Great quality for the price, never had a single issue in thousands of rounds.

Cannot speak to their other stuff, but the 357 stuff is premium target ammo for budget prices IMO

Not sure how this impacts anything, but note that S&B is now owned by CBC, the patent company of Magtech in Brazil. There might be some crossing of product and component lines.

As others have said, it's very good ammo. I've had a very few hard primer failures to fire in maybe 1,000 rounds of .357 SIG, but not enough to keep me from continuing to use it. The only real problem I've experienced is that their .357 SIG hollow point SD rounds are too hot for my little ol' M&P 40c .357 conversion to handle. They are rated at something like 1475 fps muzzle velocity, and the slide moves so fast that my 40c often won't reset. I've had no such problems with my larger SIG P229, so they're good to go with larger pistols.

Many years ago I came into a quantity of new paper case S&B 12 gauge shotshells, maybe 10 boxes. I used them all for Trap. They had a good reloading life despite being paper. Interesting looking, dark green and shiny. I think they had nickeled brass bases. Have seen none since.

No problems with S&B, Armscor, Magtech, Partisan Privi, Fiocchi, etc. Although very limited, the only ammo I've ever had problems with was Federal and Remington.

I have purchased it more than once for different handguns. A few years ago I did do a little research to see what others were saying. It got good reviews then and my opinion shoots better than some other brands I was using - out of certain firearms. It seems I still have to play around with some firearms too see what they like best. I also consider S&B to be a quality product.
